Teagan is an Irish name, an anglicized form of the surname Ó Tadhgáin, from the Gaelic name Tadhg. Tadhg is traditionally said to mean "poet" or "philosopher," though its origin is uncertain. The name is also linked with the Welsh Tegan, from teg, meaning "fair." It is pronounced TEE-guhn.
Well-known bearers include Australian actress Teagan Croft, who played Rachel Roth on the TV series Titans, and Teagan Micah, goalkeeper for Australia's national women's soccer team.
