Yazmin

Yazmin slips off the tongue like a summer breeze in a moonlit garden, and that’s perfectly fitting—her roots reach back to the Persian word for the jasmine flower, famed for releasing its perfume at dusk. Over centuries the name wandered through Arabic and Spanish-speaking cultures before blooming in English-speaking homes, where parents are drawn to its zesty Z and gentle meaning of “sweet fragrance.” Yazmin carries an easy, modern sparkle—she’s familiar yet not everywhere, hovering in the mid-hundreds of the U.S. popularity charts for decades, which means a little girl with this name is likely to share it only with a few classmates. The built-in nickname Yaz feels playful and sporty, while the full form Yazmin sounds softly elegant, offering a balance of pep and poise. Altogether, it’s a name that suggests quiet confidence, a hint of exotic charm, and the promise of leaving a lovely impression wherever she goes.
